ml350 and ata drives
I have an ML350 which I am trying to set up as a backup server for an existing machine which has an ide drive . I want to restore the image using Arconis backup , but I cannot get the ml350 to recognise an IDE drive . It is a maxtor 40g (non-hp part)
Does the ml350 support ide hard drives (assuming the on-board scsi/raid contrllers are disabled ) or is there a limit on the drive sizes ?
This is an ml350g2 with s/start 6.x

Re: ml350 and ata drives
The IDE controllers provided do not support IDE Hard Drives. This support needs to be part of the BIOS and is purposely left out. Your only options are a PCI IDE controller, other than a inexpensive one, like an Adaptec. Or use SCSI drives
Hot Swap Hard Drives
