1.
I am with the 2007 BIOS -after installing new cpu x5460 -system powers up fan@ Iam guessing 100&% and remains in that state - no boot - derspite the relevant health and light diagnostics being green/showing no errors. I have left for 10 mins ....
2.
If the no boot a BIOS update issue -there is a entitlement requirement re latest BIOS l etc but the server is over 10 yrs old so there is NO HP support contract |(nor can there be, I believe).....am I right about this? And so how do I obtain the new BIOS should that be necessary?
3.
Generallly the SPP 's I have used in the past on various versions dont seem to wish to install BIOS which have to be done manually....could someone comment on that -whether thats correct
Thank you-would be very appreciative of some advice

SolutionThe BIOS can be currently downloaded without entitlement:
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_b80e134db9c14414b49e2e03de#tab-history
Furthermore, the download of "critical" version will remain available for free. You may check under revision history for any "critical" version, newer as the one from 2007 and try.

Re: ml350 g5 upgrade cpu from x5345 to x5460 saystem not booting
thanks yes I can see a 2011 BIOS CRITICAL...but the 2015 BIOS is locked /entitlement required....how can anyone have asupport contract for G5's as they are EOL for support, I think, so how would anyone access the 2015 BIOS
