Hello Danilo,
You can change the setting of fans by going to F9 while booting. Also please make sure that you have the latest Support pack installed on the system. Here is the link in case you need it:

You need to install the hp insight management software -- it will turn down the fan speed after the computer boots up.

At the same subject, if I install FreeBSD 5.2-Current on my ML370G3(P28), How do I slow down the fan speed.

Re: ml370 G3 how to reduce fan speed

Sunil,
the problem still remains...
I've updated the bios to the latest version, but i've found that "Advanced System Management Driver" is not installed.

So I've tried to install it but it tells me that "this software doesn't need to be installed on my system."
(HP Proliant Advanced System Management Controller Driver for Windows 2000 ver 5.32.2195.0)

My system is a Windows 2000 sp4 Italian.

If the system boot from the SmartStart Cd after loading some drivers the fan speed get normalized...... So the hardware is working properly but in Windows not.
Finally I think I need a driver for windows to setup correctly fan speed management.

Could anyone help me....

Thanks in advance

Re: ml370 G3 how to reduce fan speed

Hello Danilo,
What is the fan speed set as in the BIOS?? You can check that by going in F9/Advanced Options/Default Fan Speed. Please try setting it to low and see if that helps.

The fan speed in bios is set to "normal"
(there is high and normal but not low)
