Re: ml370 g5 raid expansion - how to
Do you mind to check if the controller has a battery install, because the only way to expand/extend array you need your controller to have a battery. If your controller does not have that batery try to add it, but first check if this controller has the option to install it.

Re: ml370 g5 raid expansion - how to
The configuration as above says
Battery Pack Count:0
Is it possible the add option is failing because of this, as I mentioned this server is only in testing phase.
see
Error: This operation is not supported with the current configuration. Use the
"show" command on devices to show additional details about the
configuration.
Thanks

http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12400_div/12400_div.HTML
Online array expansion (with BBWC upgrade)
Online logical drive extension (with BBWC upgrade)
Online RAID level migration (with BBWC upgrade)
Online strip size migration (with BBWC upgrade)
So unless you have the battery backed cache then I would expect this function to fail.

Re: ml370 g5 raid expansion - how to
I have checked the product specification and I need the (BBWC upgrade) for online expansion and other features.
Thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes when the BBWC upgrade arrives.
