model number for proliant 800

I am trying to order parts for a Compaq Proliant 800 (fans and power supply). Howver, the illustrated parts catalog showing the mechanical parts expolded view of the proliant 800 is completely different from the actual machine I have. I cannot find a sticker listing the model number for the unit I have. My unit has two fans, one mounted internally and one on the back wall of the unit(besides the power supply fan).

Re: model number for proliant 800

Hi,

You were probably looking at the Pentium Pro version of the chassis. The PII/PIII version shares the same chassis as the Proliant 1600, PSU and fans are the same. Please see attached PDF for the spare parts listing for the Proliant 800 PII/PIII chassis.

You need the PSU - Item 5 271916-001

I/O Fan Assembly - Item 6 281844-001
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/showphoto?partnumber=281844-001

Although not listed since it comes as part of the processor cage, the Processor cage fan is part number 122633-001

Try Ebay for your parts first as buying from HP may be quite expensive considering the age of the system.

You may be cheaper buying a whole system for spares from Ebay......example.

I hope this helps.
