Re: modem install
I had a similar problem installing an internal modem. I ended up using an external modem and the existing COM1 serial port. Of course, now that I have used the one and only serial port, I need a COM2 to connect my new UPS. Intend to install a generic parallel/serial card this weekend and see if the HW and NT4 will recognize it. Hope this helps.

Re: modem install
Thanks Clif. I seem to have missed a step in configuring the board, I have now assigned the COM port settings to the modem in the BIOS settings and it now seems to work, unfortunately the software I wanted it for has now gone out of its trial period so that's one problem solved, one created, well sort of anyway.
Thanks alot for your reply
