Re: my proliant 1500

I have been lucky enough to have been given a 1500 5/100, and it has taken 2000 pro without a hitch, even with all Compaq system partitions wiped. Can only assume that you need the dipswitches resetting. Locate the switches, which should all be 'off', I think. Set switch 6 'on'. Power up the server for about a minute, then power down and reset 6 to off. This is the equivalent of 'cmos clear'. I don't know where you'd get the cds or floppies from - I was given the set that was supplied with my unit when it was new.

Re: my proliant 1500

I Stuart and Dennis,

You can get all the drivers from this following URL: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1127.html

1st: you must run or install the SCU (system configuration utility) if its not already installed.

2nd: you must run the array configuration utility (ACU) if you have an array controller

3rd: you can boot of the your operating system cd and you will have to specify the mass storage driver when using the F6 option key. You will have to download the right disk for the controller (mass storage driver.

Here is the link for smartstart cd ordering: http://www.compaq.com/products/servers/SmartStart/

Hope this will help
