need help installing SCO on proliant ML350!!
I'm trying to install SCO 5.0.5 on proliant ML350 with a 3200 array controller.
I found the SCO document specifying to use the BTLD disks to load the driver for the 3200 array controller. I follow those steps, but after the driver loads successfully, I see a warning:
Test open failed "hd=Sdsk", no root disk controller.
System configuration has not been run on this controller, use system configuration to assign order of this controller.
I have the smartstart 5.5 disk and I've used it to prepare the server. I don't see any tools on it to run the system configuration. I've installed Proliant 800/1600's and they have the system config. available when you press F10 during bootup. I press F10 on this server and I don't get a menu where system config. is available.
So....how can I get past this hurdle?
Thanks,
Oskar

Re: need help installing SCO on proliant ML350!!
the complete warning message is as follows:
Warning: ida: the order of the controller in slot 6 is unassigned - using ida0
Then follows the message saying system config. has not been run.
I've tried messing around with the bootstrings but still no luck...

Re: need help installing SCO on proliant ML350!!
I've checked this and the 3200 controller IS set as FIRST. I found this in the system config. menu. It's a list of the scsi and system controller. It's got 5 devices, the 3200 controller, the system controller, the embedded scsi controller (uses 2 numbers) and the last was the adaptec controller for the tape drive. (this was set to FIFTH)

Re: need help installing SCO on proliant ML350!!
I'll tell you what, install SCO 5.0.5 without the BTLD disks, SCO actually recognises the ida controller, which is what the 3200 is.
Once the system is installed, you can install the EFS to get it to use the updated drivers...
Let me know if that works, that's certainly how we install systems with a 3200, we only use the BTLD for 4200 and 5300 cards...
