network problem DL385 G5

We have a strange network problem with a DL385 G5 running Windows 2003 Server. All is working fine, except when we try to ping from a client which is in the same network segment as the server e.g. 192.168.10.0 the first ping reply's the other 3 don't come back. When we do this from another network segment eg. 192.168.20.0 all 4 pings are replying. Other servers DL360 or DL380 G4 which are in the same network segment as the "problem server" are working fine. We tried the newest network driver, disabled teaming tried another switch.
May be someone had a similar problem and is able to help.
Thanks in advance!

hello

just to clarify
you mean dl380 G5 right?

so you say "All is working fine" the only issue is the ping??? or really network is failing - drop packets - slow speed?

Re: network problem DL385 G5

sorry of course the DL380 G5 server

network from the server to every client and internet etc. is working fine.
All clients which are in the same network segment can't reach the server by ping etc. Only the 1st ping is coming back.
All other clients which aren't in the same network segment can access the server normal.

Re: network problem DL385 G5

There seems to be a problem with windows server 2003 sp2 and the NC373i adapters.
If this is what you have then read

Re: network problem DL385 G5

Support said there is a new driver out this last week. My preliminary testing is very promising. Performance is way up and the constant receive errors that I was seeing have gone away. Lots of testing ahead but I feel like there's hope...

This Component Package contains the drivers for the HP NC-Series Multifunction Gigabit Server Adapters for Windows Server 2003. This package contains VBD driver version 4.1.5.0, NDIS 5.2 driver version 4.1.3.0, and iSCSI offload driver version 4.1.8.0.
