I recently bought a proliant 800 at an auction. Installed windows 2000 on it, then added a pci card (the card was known to be good) and the system stopped posting. The rear fans will spin for a second and then stop. If I pull out the cpu/ram tray the power supply fan will spin up, and the system will kick on. But if I put the tray back in it goes back to the same problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: no post
What type of card is this and will the server post if the card is removed? Also what other PCI cards are installed?

Re: no post
I have exactly the same problem on 2 Proliant 800 servers.
The only thing that has been changed, is that i've removed the 4/8 gig DAT tapes drives.
All connectors and cables are connected properly. I've also tried to disconnect as many devices as possible, witch had no effect.
Please help.
Thanks.

Re: no post
Please clear NVRAM. After this has been done go back into the F10 and let it auto-configure but say NO to the backup SCI file.
