.oem Files for DL380G4 and SA-6i without Floppydrive
The DL380-G4 has normaly no Floppy. With the SA-6i the Server will not boot after the installation of Windows Server 2003. How is the way to give w2k3 the .oem Files with a USB Key?
thanks for an idea

Re: .oem Files for DL380G4 and SA-6i without Floppydrive
Thanks for reply, i think this is the answer from your links:
========
The newly supported USB drive key cannot be used even when formatted as a floppy to provide a driver update during a Microsoft Windows installation for 2000 or 2003. The device can be used once the operating system has loaded and loads the necessary USB driver.
========
Without a Floppy oder USB Floppy there is no way to give a updated driver.

Re: .oem Files for DL380G4 and SA-6i without Floppydrive
1-3: The answer didn't help answer my question, but thanks anyhow!
4-7: The answer helped with a portion of my question, but I still need help.
8-10: The answer has solved my problem completely! I'm a happy camper!
If you have another question, like how do you now recover your server that will not boot, then you should ask it!

Re: .oem Files for DL380G4 and SA-6i without Floppydrive
No the Problem is not resolved. I need always a Floppy in the Server to add the SA64x Files after press F6 during install W2k3 - but all DL380G4 commes without a floppy drive.
Should i create a W2k3 Disk with $OEM$ Directory or can i copy the SA64x File in a directory of the CD (i edit the ISO File).
greeting

Re: .oem Files for DL380G4 and SA-6i without Floppydrive
here is what I found about 3rd Party mass storage controllers:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;288344
this should give you all answers you need for it, further ├Г┬нnformations should be also found in the drivers documentatio
