p600 + SATA

Is anyone currently using a p600 smart array controller with an internal hot-swap SATA hard drive? If so, which SAS/SATA cable are you using?

I've been trying to get an answer(global forum and 3rd world tech support) for almost a week with no luck, at this point I don't think even HP knows..lol

Hello :)

What is your server model?

You can take a look also at the quickspecs - http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12247_na/12247_na.html

SAS Internal Cable Option NOTE: The SAS cable supports four drives without an expander. Two cables are required when more than four drives are installed. SAS Internal Cables are typically supplied with the server. Refer to server documentation for details.

Re: p600 + SATA

Hi, thanks for the quick reply!

Which of those three cables listed in the quickspecs do I need? I need the cable to run from the p600 internal SAS connector to the (2) SATA connectors on the back of the internal hard drive cage.

Here's the equipment I'm working with:
Server Model: DL360 G4 / Part# 368150-001
Storage Controller: Smart Array P600 / Part# 337972-b21
Internal Hard Drives: (2) HP 250GB 7200 3.5" SATA Hotplug / Part# 349239-B21
