Re: possible memory leak on DL380G3
Our DL380G3s running 9iAS/10gAS, would easily max out when they had 3GB of memory. We had to go with 4GB as a minimum and have now got 6GB in production, which still might not be enough.
Of course this is application specific so YMMV.
Regards,
Rob

Re: possible memory leak on DL380G3
I wonder if the kernel is handling the freeing up of memory.
Here's a c&p of top command with Oracle running:
Mem: 3089968K av, 3079588K used, 10380K free, 238088K shrd, 251772K buff
Swap: 3068128K av, 12088K used, 3056040K free 2312424K cached
Here's a c&p of top command with Oracle stopped (basically an idle system):
Mem: 3089968K av, 2752052K used, 337916K free, 0K shrd, 251772K buff
Swap: 3068128K av, 12088K used, 3056040K free 2297372K cached
Considerable amount of memory still being used, by what?
