Re: problem with Insight foundation agent on Proliant DL380G4
Download the missing or corrupted file from here:
http://www.driverskit.com/dll/hostmib.dll/975.html
unistall the PSP 7.9 and all HP angents and utilities
Relace the damaged file with the virgin one.
Reinstall the PSP 7.9 and all of its components..

Re: problem with Insight foundation agent on Proliant DL380G4
I have reinstalled the agents 2 times, without any change.
I use 2 proliants DL380 G4 (same server same OS).
I have this problem only on one of them.
I have compared the C:\WINDOWS\system32\CpqMgmt\Cqmghost\hostmib.dll on the 2 server, they are identical.
are there some tools to check the SNMP service on a win2k3 server?
regards

- Go to Security Tab
- Add Button

Re: problem with Insight foundation agent on Proliant DL380G4
It is best practice to NOT use the community strings public and private--select your own. They can be any alphanumeric string.
It is also best practice to establish separate READ ONLY and READ-WRITE strings. A READ-WRITE string is necessary for intra-agent communications and the ability to use settable items like log clearing and threshold setting.
HP SIM does not need a READ-WRITE string for any of its operations. Only tell the READ ONLY string to HP SIM and the READ-WRITE string never needs to traverse the wire.
