proliant 1600

I inherited a proliant 1600 runing linux AS2 and I am unable to acesses bios setup. I found Smartstart 5.50 cd but machine will not boot from it. Also will not bot from floppy.

Hi John:

Try to turn switch # SW1 Swith # 4 to on; that will force floppy boot.
- if that dosenot work try different floppy dirve.

- Also you can try to do rom update or emergency rom updates. you can follow the user guide MSG for that server for further instructions.

Try this floppy version of the SCU.

I tried disconnecting the scsi controllers to force floppy boot but that didn't work. As was suggested by Travek, I opened rocker #4 on SW1 and it forced floppy boot on restart. Then I was able to reconfigure the bios to allow the drives to boot in the sequence I wanted.
