hello,
I recently installed about 10 proliant 5500's. 3 were windows, the rest were linux. Most of them worked fine, but this one box keeps getting this post error 212.
I tried swapping the cpu's and vrm's with another server that I knew was working perfect but I still get the same error. Did I miss doing something else to reset this?
Thanks,
Oskar

Solution
Hello Oskar,
You need to run System Configuration Utility on the server which one is giving you 212 error. When you run the utility you will asked that during the previous POST a CPU failure was detected. Has it been fixed?? Just say Yes and you will be all set to go. Here is the link for the Utility just in case you need it:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
Please let me know how you make out.

Re: proliant 5500, post error 212 - processor 2 failed
Hi,
Thank you for the advice.
I'll try doing that this week...it'll take me a few days to get to it!
I'll post here when after I get there and see what happens.
Oskar
