proliant 800(p18) upgraded to 2x p3 500 mhz

hi if someone can help me , i recently upgraded my proliant 800 from pentium 2 350 2x to a 2 x pentium 3 katmai 100mhz fsb 500
The system indicates both processors with 1024 cach doesnt needs to be 512??

de bios indicates 2 cpu detected but if i run windows 2000 theres no sign of the second cpu i used cpuid to see if they are running, cpuid also says : no level 2 cache detected please can someone help me i think i need to change some settings but wich one?? grtz

What you see when only one CPU installed
System ROM up to date
Run F10 System Configuration Update - save and Exit
Jumpers some system board do have Bus/Core Frequency Switch
Beside CPU had you change PPM/VRM

i have changed vrm both , and if i install one de bios shows the same information 1024kb 500mhz, were can i find systemboardnr? does pentium 3 use full table option in the bios? grtz

did you run F10 ? sytem ROM up to date ?

thnx i got it working besides one thing
it shows mps in device manager

cpuid detects 2 cpu's but both with none level 2 cache

the system rom got the latest bios from the hp site

the dual p2 350 did work
i find it kinda strange the bios shows 1024 kb cach thats 1mb ,on the cpu it self is printed 512kb cache and when i install 2 p2 350 it shows 512kb ,both compaq labeled pentium 3 cpus

maybe they share cach?

system is stable now and working good

maybe the level 2 cach is on becuase cpuid cant detect it?

there's no part number on it i can tell its a compaq becuase of the small compaq sticker is still on it
