proliant 800

i have a proliant 800 that recently read off booting error; invalid processor slot but the machine was built in that manner since 98 and has never been worked on or have had any changes. the error does not let the operating system boot i have tried many choices but booting into the bios is not one. i read in other forums that the board may be damaged and if that is the case i will purchase a different board. i am trying to troubleshoot to reach the problem without making to many trips to the hardware store i will appreciate all the support... thank you

I faced same problem today. but it got resolved after I removed and put back the CPU and PPU. Guess this works for you aswell
