proliant fan and error 1611
chassis fan died and is discontinued item. machine stopped normally and sent message. found a new nidec beta V fan, installed it. fan runs but machine still sends 1611 fan failure message and then shuts down. did the usual do-over, unplug, check connections, etc.
fans are identical except old fan is .8 amps and new fan is .6 amps. couldn't find an .8 amp fan anywhere. had to cut the connector off the new fan and install old connector to board. both fans 3 conductor with a jumper at the board connector.
Can anyone Please shed some light on this?
Thanks much!
