Re: q57nd60x.sys & Symantec Backup Exec for Windows 12.5 error

Another issue appeared on our production servers when the workaround was applied. Users where having intermittent access issues - they would be working away fine, then they would be unable to access files/folders, then it would be ok again. This continued until I reinstalled CP011736.exe (driver for correct nic in system) then problem seemed to disappear.

I checked the Windows system log and it shows a number of errors, as follows, starting about time I installed CP007810.exe and are frequent until I reinstalled CP011736 then they stop.

Log Name: System
Source: srv
Date: 29/04/2010 11:05:41
Event ID: 2012
Task Category: None
Level: Warning
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: OMDOBCFP01
Description:
While transmitting or receiving data, the server encountered a network error. Occassional errors are expected, but large amounts of these indicate a possible error in your network configuration. The error status code is contained within the returned data (formatted as Words) and may point you towards the problem.

Users are working away ok at the moment but reinstalling the CP011736.exe has reintroduced the original problem where the backup has a completed with exception status and it is because it can't backup the q57nd60x.sys file. CP011736.exe must delete that file but leave references that Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 picks up on to try and back up a none existent file.
