"Backup Device Error" on DL380G3

Hi there,

I am having a problem with an Ultrium 460 ext tape drive connected to a DL380G3 server running Windows 2003 standard edition. The tape drive is connected to a LSI 320 SCSI card (Logic1020/1030) where it is recognized and properly installed.

My client is using the native windows backup application and the backup is done correctly, thus after the backup is done the catalog of the successful backup can not be read. Windows backup will show an error â backup device errorâ and will not display the contents of the tape. We have tried the same tape on a different machine and tried catalog but still gave us the same error. This showed that the backup it self is being corrupted.

Do u have any suggestions that I can try?
