"PCI Device" w/o Driver in Device Manager, SBS 2003

I have a piece of hardware identifying itself as a PCI Device in Device Manager on SBS 2003 on a ProLiant ML150 G3. HP System Management Homepage has it listed/identified as best it can as:
PCI Device
Mass Storage,
Device: 31
Vendor ID: 8086
Device ID: 2681
Subsystem Vendor ID: 103C
Subsystem ID: 31FE

I don't see the drivers anywhere on Intel, or HP's website. Any links you know of for the driver, or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

By the vendor ID and device ID, it is a SATA AHCI controller in an Intel 631xESB/632xESB chipset.

(See http://pciids.sourceforge.net/ to identify a PCI device using its ID numbers.)

I went to http://www.hp.com/go/support , selected "Download drivers and software" and typed in "ML150 G3". Then selected Windows Server 2003 as the OS, and got the list of drivers. "Intel® SATA AHCI Controller Driver" seems right, so here's the direct link to the driver download page:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1163831&swItem=MTX-5aedfd0840e543a089f9247106&prodNameId=3279687&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0

You obviously have the OS already installed, so just use the 1st step of the installation instructions on the webpage to extract the driver, and then install the driver using the Device Manager.

Try this driver first:
Intel® SATA AHCI Controller Driver

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1163831&prodNameId=3279687&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-5aedfd0840e543a089f9247106

What kind of SATA/SAS controller is being used in the server?

Windows might be looking for the driver for the Intel 2681 Chipset of the embedded SAS/SATA controller. HP do not provide this version of driver. HP does supply drivers for chipset 2680 and 2682 on the documentation and SETUP CD.

If the driver doesn't work try this to fix the issue:

1 - Boot the server to the PHOENIX BIOS by pressing F10 during POST when prompted.

2 - Once in the BIOS, Click on the ADVANCED TAB, then CHIPSET CONTROL tab.

3 - Verify the line SATA AHCI ENABLE is disabled. Disable it if necessary.

4 - Exit and save changes.

Boot to Windows 2003 and open the Device Manager

You will notice the device manager will properly recognize the INTEL Chipset as 2680 and find new hardware. The yellow bang will disappear under OTHER DEVICES.
