"Redundant power supply" vs "power supply"

Our power supply went down (ML350 G4) and I have to replace it. I found one nearby with these details: 358352-021, "HP ML350G4 HOT PLUG REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY" and I wonder if I can use it instead of the broken one ? Or is it suppose to work as a secondary power supply only ?

Thanks

Redundant means it will fail over when the primary fails. It should work. You need the proper hot plug enclosure for it.

On the current PSU you will find a partnumber and a "replacement partnumber".

If you order a replacement, the old PSU should be returned.
If it's for redundance then ofcourse you do not return any PSU.

but basically it's the same PSU.

Thank you. I ordered it and hopefully it is going to resolve the problem.
