"TCP off-loading"

Do our blade servers (BL20p's) support "TCP off-loading"?

Re: "TCP off-loading"

Yes - by replacing two of the standard NICs (they are placed on a mezzanine card) with this option:

HP ProLiant BL20p Dual NC370I Multifunction Network Adapter [374963-B21]

Notes says: 1) a minimum of 1 GB of memory per port is required, 2) currently no support for Linux

BTW - Multifuction NICs are standard in c-Class blades

Rgds.

Re: "TCP off-loading"

Tom,
For clarification, do you mean TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) or do you mean TCP Checksum Offloading?

If you are referring to TOE, then Raadek's message applies.

If you are referring to checksum offloading, all of our blade NICs support it (multifunction or not).

Best regards,
