hi--when the battery fails can you replace only the battery (this is a DL360 G4) or do you have to replace the entire accelerator cache board.
Thanks

Re: "accelerator board battery failure" error message
just the battery if you are using a 6 series smart array controller, the battery spare is 307132-001 .
BTW I recommend you to have FW 2.58 or greater to avoid any FW bug on the battery

SolutionI agree with Juan.
False battery failures are very common with old firmware on 6X based Smart Array controllers (Embedded 6i, 6402 etc). Update if required before spending any money on a new battery.
If the system is still under warranty and you log a call with HP they will most likely request a firmware update before issuing any spares.
Version 2.58 firmware extended the battery life. (Please see attached HP advisory).
Regards,
Brian

Re: "accelerator board battery failure" error message
looks like HP is showing 2.80 as the latest for that firmware. Is that right or am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanks

Re: "accelerator board battery failure" error message
Today i received email from my DL 360G4 server.
Subject: Storage Agents: Accelerator Board Battery Failed
SNMP Trap: 3040
Date time: 10/08/2008 03:07:55 AM
Computer: BGCUBAD01
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Warning
Category: (4)
Description:
An 'Accelerator Board Battery Failed' trap signifies that the agent has detected a battery failure associated with the array accelerator cache board.
Details:
Battery Status 'FAILED'
MEMORY 196608
Controller Slot # 0
Model 26

My question is what is the impact on the server if the battery dies?
