"no controllers were found in this system" hp storage manager

We are installing Centos ver 5 on an ML110G5 with onboard sata raid.

How can we monitor the raid status from with Linux. Ther is no alarm which sounds when a drive fails. We have installed the HP Storage Manager but get the message "no controllers were found in this system"

If there is a third party raid monitoring tool, where would I download it from? Is it Intel or Adaptec?

Thank you

Me also with a dl120g5.
I think the storage manager just can't manage sata raid controllers. I've asked HP this question but sofar I haven't had a answer. The Guy I spoke to didn't know.

Good!
So, how did you resolve the monitoring problem?

I have tried to install lm-sensors, hplog... anyone find the controllers...

do you have the same problem?

I setup sendmail and I forward mail messages to root by smartd to my own email address.

No I have not found a solution. The installation was 12 months ago, the site is over 1000km from where the head office is, no technical staff there on site. Just hope both drives don't fail before my next visit to reboot it and check the health via boot bios. (the only way it can be done)

I know the ML110 is a base machine (slightly better than a dektop) but come on HP,you sell it with raid, how about some tools to monitor it?
