I have an ML110G5 with 3 HD on raid 5 , and E200 RAID controller.
I got a message"
The following disk drive need Automatic Data Recovery (Rebuild): Port 1I: Box 0: Bay 4
Automatic Data Recovery previously aborted."
I try Automatic data recovery. The system started rebuilding and i had the following Status:
_______Time "0"________
Logical Drive 1 Status:Recovering (rebuilding data on a replaced drive)
Logical Drive 1 Blocks to Rebuild: 9.262.848
Logical Drive 2 Status:Ready for recovery
Logical Drive 3 Status:Ready for recovery
_______Time "1"________
Logical Drive 1 Status:OK
Logical Drive 2 Status:OK
Logical Drive 3 Status:Recovering (rebuilding data on a replaced drive)
Logical Drive 3 Blocks to Rebuild: 896.774.736
_______Time "2"________
Logical Drive 1 Status:OK
Logical Drive 2 Status:OK
Logical Drive 3 Status:Recovering (rebuilding data on a replaced drive)
Logical Drive 3 Blocks to Rebuild: 214.992.848
_______Time "3"________
Logical Drive 1 Status:Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
Logical Drive 2 Status:Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
Logical Drive 3 Status:Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
..and the general Controller ERROR REPORT:
Logical drive 1 status = Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
Port 1I, Box 0, Bay 4 failed - REPLACE (Not ready bad sense)
Logical drive 2 status = Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
Port 1I, Box 0, Bay 4 failed - REPLACE (Not ready bad sense)
Logical drive 3 status = Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
Port 1I, Box 0, Bay 4 failed - REPLACE (Not ready bad sense)
Error occurred reading RIS copy from Port 1I, Box 0, Bay 4
I try again , and i had the same results.
Questions:
(1) DO i have a problem on logical drive 3?
(2) Is there any other solution or i have to replace logical drive 3 (--> its also a physical drive).
(3) If i have to replace it, what i have to do? Just replace the drive, and the controller will rebuild the array automatically?

Re: raid 5 Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
Hi ,
did you try to replace the hard disk in Bay 4 with a new one yet ?
It looks like that is the disk with a problem and when a raid5 reconstruction is tried (rebuild) it aborts after a while because it encounters problems with the media on that disk in Bay 4.

Re: raid 5 Interim recovery (volume functional, but not fault tolerant)
No yet. i have already order a HD.
It seems to agree with you.
So, your answers to my question are:
(1) YES
(2) REPLACE DRIVE
(3) AUTOMATICALLY REBUILD from Controller.
Right?

Solution
Teh answers are
1) yes
2) no other solution, replaced physicall disk in bay 4. This will rebuild logical drive 3 and bring it back to a healthy status.
3) normally the array will rebuild the logical drive after you inserted a new disk in bay 4.
