recover data from a stripe set
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction for a DR that is going nowhere fast.
We have a Proliant 3000 whose system drive failed. We have no recent backups of the server (why would you need a backup for such a high-end server?).
My question is this...provided I have the correct 3 drives that were associated with the RAID 0 stripe set, and I put them in the proper drive bay sequence...is this data recoverable, somehow...I can't see how it would be after setting up a new system drive in this server.
I can't run these drives through the ACU and maintain the data spread across these drives. Anything done in the ACU is going to potentially corrupt the data, correct?
The drives do not show up in Disk Administrator in Windows 2000 Server because I put them in after the SmartStart/OS install. However, they are recognized by the Array Config Utility.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Nate
