replacement P410 storage battery "not supported by the currently running firmware"
On a customer's server, an proliant DL385 G6 with "smart array P410", we were alerted to a failing battery by the cciss_vol_status tool. They originally ordered (and installed) the wrong battery part, for the G5 model. They've obtained and just installed the correct battery, which spent ~90m charging, but now says:
Cache Status: Permanently Disabled
Battery/Capacitor Status: OK
Cache Backup Power Source: Batteries
Battery/Capacitor Status: OK
Cache Status Details: The cache is disabled because one or more attached batteries are not supported by the currently running firmware.
Edit: Battery PIC Revision 0x34
However, they're running the latest firmware. What gives?
Running firmware: 6.60
ROM firmware: 6.60
