replacing disk

Hello,

I have proliant ML370G3 server witch has one failed scsi drive. It is mirrored(raid1+0) drive and I was wondering how do I rebuild the raid after replacing the drive. I have had hard time to find information in the manuals about rebuilding.

Thanks

Re: replacing disk

If the system is still up, you can just replace the failed drive. Pull the failed drive out and insert the new good drive. The drives are hotswap and I am guessing you used a 5i controler or something?

If you used the O/S to build the mirror, what O/S did you use?

Take a look here for a good read:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/techpubs/user_reference_guides/266328-001_rev1_us.pdf
Check out Appendix D

G'luck!
Enjoy!

Re: replacing disk

Thanks!

The controller is Smart Array 532. I have no idea how the mirror was originally set up. It was done before I came to the company. Anyway it's on W2K server.

Funny thing is that the Array config utility shows that everything is OK and all drives are online. But the drive flashes red light and Windows log and POST says that the drive is in error state.

Quess it's back to the manuals...
