retro fitting E5-2470V2 to a Proliant DL360e
Hi,
I've tried fitting two E5-2470V2 to a Proliant DL360e that came with two E5-2450Ls fitted. With the new processors the server fails to reach the POST screen, its OK with the original CPUs back.
As the 2470V2 were an original CPU option for this model, Is there a firmware update I can apply or something else I could try to use these faster CPU's?
Thanks in advance,
Robert.

Re: retro fitting E5-2470V2 to a Proliant DL360e
More info: The current BIOS reports "HP BIOS P73 02/10/2014 from the support page here it looks as though this has support for the 24xxV2 CPU's so maybe i need to update the PSUs from 460->750w for the BIOS to start the processors?
The 2470V2 are rated at 20w more then the current ones so maybe the BIOS is playing safe?

Re: retro fitting E5-2470V2 to a Proliant DL360e
The trick is to apply this HP software upgrade pack https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03911173
With this the e5-2470V2s now work in the old mainboard. & have really breathed life back into the old proliant.
