serial console bios/pre-boot output only ??

Hey there,

i've got a new proliant dl165 g5.

i attached a serial cable to another box there and use minicom to interact with it.

the interaction only works after the os booted up (obsd4.4).

i dont exactly remember how the naming was in the bios but i enabled:

1.serial port with prefered baudrate etc
2. bios redirection - always

now i am able to see the post screens and messages but i am unable to send anything with the keyboard ...

is this a settings problem ?

am i unable to resolve this without driving hours and get my hands on the box ?
