serialnumbers and model

is there anyone who can tell me if it's possible to find out which model it is?
we have about 300 DL360. i have a excel sheet with all serialnumbers of them. is there a possibility to see what model it is within the serialnumber ?

It would be a lot of work, but you could go to the warranty look up page and it gives you the product number and description.
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/ewarranty/warrantyResults.do
You can then take the product number and get more detail for it in the quick specs of the server.

You can determine which model it is by examining the serial number. There will be a sequence of letters and numbers such as 'FXS1, FSM1 FSK1' etc in the middle. However, there are now 4 generations of DL360. The first generation had 20 models so it may be a monumental task. The easiest way I've found is to get hold a copy of OARS. This will allow you to identify the model by the codes indicated above.
