server locks up when starting smartstart and a few other ????'s
this is the newest version of smartstart the comp is a proliant 1500 rackmount with 1 pent 133 and 32meg of ram and 1 4.3 gig drive
when i try to boot the computer i get an error saying options not set when i continue booting by pressing F1 the smartstart starts to load and hangs on the language screen
any suggestions?
now for the questions
is the array controller built into the board ?
if i wanted to install another hard drive would it automatically be configured?
do these drives have to be partitioned a special way?

Re: server locks up when starting smartstart and a few other ????'s
firstly you are getting that message because your cmos settings are not set..this could be becuase they were siimply lost or your cmos battery could be bad..boot to the f10 and let it detect hardware..then save and exit..on reboot if you get the same message then your battery is dead and needs replacement...second the array controller is NOT built into the system..it would be a card inside...if you have hot swap drive bays putting a new drive in it would get recognized but ot configured..you would need to run the aray configuration utility to configure it. thirdly no there is not specific config for partitioning..other than NT primary partition wont configure larger than 4gb
