server startup problem
Hello,
I have a ML350 4gp. Yesterday I tried to reboot the machine. I closed down win2003 but it didnt come up again. I pressed the on/off button and restarted but the screen just stayed black.
I took all cables off, took it out of the systems room and attached it in my office with cables again. I restarted the machine and the rear fan kept working at full speed for 10 minutes while this normally takes only 20 seconds or so.
I opened the machine , took out the memory, turned the machine on. The beeps came as expected. I turned it off again, put the memory in and turned the machine on again.
After that it worked fine.
If the screen stays completely black while trying to boot the machine, what is likely to be broken? or can this be a one time event?
The machine is up now for more then 12 hours.
tnx
frank

Re: server startup problem
Hi Frank,
It may be or may not be a one time event.
Check the IML for confirmation.
Also try to run the offline insight diagnostics using smart start CD in next downtime
I am an HPE Employee
