smart 5i+ controller in dl380 g3

We having probem with the controller and plan to replaced it/
Is it possible to replace the controller itself? I see from the manual that is is integrated.If it can be replaced can you point me to the manual,thanks.

no it is not possible if your controller is faulty your System Board board has to be replaced since controller is part of

Hi,

Alternately you can check with a PCI-X Smart array 53xx card if you have spare ones for troubleshooting.

For DL380 G2 servers the Smart Array 5i+ came as a daughter board that fits on top of the System Board. Unfortunately this is not the case with the DL380 G3.
