storage controller cache size

Hi,
I would like to know what is the impact of controller cache size increase.
Could RAID one be created with Zero Memory.

I am planning to purchase 4 DL380 G7

In storage controller section of the model that I need I see
Smart Array P410i/512MB FBWC

I will need to have Raid 1 and 10 in each server.
I saw the models with 256MB that supports Raid 10 too. So how the increase of memory will improve storage performance?

Thanks,
Michael.

Re: storage controller cache size

The controller can cache more reads and writes then - in theory this improves the performance.

Hope this helps!

Re: storage controller cache size

The 512MB FBWC is good option for P410i. It has 72bit wide (64bit data + 8bit parity) cache and has better bandwidth than 256MB cache 40bit (32bit data + 8bit parity).
