system state restore to a ProLiant DL360 G7

Hi,

I have to do a system state restore from an IBM System x3550 M3 to a ProLiant DL360 G7.

This is to enable me to clone the identity of the server, SID etc.

The OS on both servers is W2K8R2SP1.

My concern is that while the correct drivers are present on the DL360, after the reboot it will fail due to incorrect registry entries post restore.

Is it an option to export the registry entries for the raid controller and disk drivers and import after the restore before the server restart?

Would it be possible to boot from a DART disk and apply the correct drivers after the server restart?

I realise that one is EFI and the other MBR and have a solution for that, but not yet for the different raid\disk drivers.

Your thoughts and advice are welcomed.

Regards,

Mike

Re: system state restore to a ProLiant DL360 G7

Hi,

I guess, this job requires migration software. for example: HP ProLiant Essentials Server Migration Pack Physical to ProLiant-P2P which allow any physical machine to be migrated to proliant server. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=453861
