Re: temperature supervision

Can you explain more details?

You should be able to monitor for fan failure and CPU temperature and setup a report in HP Insight.

With the6-11 fans in each server, it should never have a temperature event in a server. As the temperature goes up fans will increase towards 100%. If a fan fails, you will get an event on the server.

I placed sensors in the server room to monitor for temperature by the APC Symmetra LX in case of A/C failure. I am more concerned about the A/C unit failing in the server room. So I did two solutions. I removed the HVAC vents from the building into the server room. In Winter, they were adding heat. I replaced the single A/C unit with two 2 ton split units. Either one is capable of handing the server room. The second unit is for redundancy. They are on separate circuits. I am considering a generator/UPS for those units.
