temperture sensors / configuring thresholds

hi anyone know how to configure the temperture threasholds for an hp dl380 g5?

bonus how do i log the temperturs of the sensor to a file in windows server?

Thresholds are not configurable. They are set based on the components that they protect and can't be changed due to risk to the system.

but on the system management it says that the ambient sensor may be configurable.

from the system managment help page

Threshold: This is the shutdown threshold temperature sensor setting in degrees celsius. This is the temperature in which the sensor will be considered to be in a failed state thus causing the system to be shutdown.

Note: Only the Ambient zone type allows setting of the threshold temperature. Not all (maybe one or none) sensors can set this value.

It's incorrect. They are not configurable.

MRTG and RRDtool, the open source tools mentioned in the paper, are now both available for Windows (and work in exactly the same way).

Im actually suprised that the threshold for the ambient temp is 30c / 100f that seems low to me.
