time drifts

When using Novell 5.1 the server is losing time. We have the same problem with a Proliant 350, if Novell 5.1 is installed on a other brand there is no losing time.
I also looked on the Novell site the find this problem and there was no solution.
I hope somebody can help me to fix this problem,

Kind regards Ed van Loon

Re: time drifts

Does the server report a 162 and 172 POST error? If so, check the switch settings. If the switches are correct, replace the external battery. If you don't receive the POST error message's), go to the next step.

2. Boot the server to a DOS prompt. Check the time. Re-check it in a hour or so. If the time reports correctly, go to the next step.

3. Was the server patched with NW5SP3? If so, do a MODULES TIMESYNC* at a server prompt. Is the TIMESYNC.NLM dated May 5, 1999? If so, have them downgrade to TIMESYNC.NLM dated Feb 11, 1999 from NW5SP2A. (No need to downgrade the entire patch)

This is a temporary workaround until Novell corrects the problem.
