transfering disks to another machine

We have quite a number of compaq 1600 servers and I wanted to swap the drives from one machine to another. In the past under windows NT 4 it has been very easy and worked all the time. When I try this under windows 2000 it gets up to a message saying "windows 2000 Starting" and just hangs there. I am trying to swap it from a 1600 with a 350 processor to a 1600 with a 450 processor. Is there a trick I need to know to enable this to work. It never gets to the point of selecting the profile you want to boot from. Any advise will be appreciated.

Re: transfering disks to another machine

Hello,
Please make sure that you have the latest System bios and the firmware of the array controller. Please move the array controller with the HDDs. Make sure that you configure your array controller first by going into F10 partition and run system configuration utility.
