unknown model

hi. somebody gave me a proliant without Chassis and power supply, so i dont know what it is. Im trying to use it with another chassis but it doesnt work. how do i know the model i have? where can i get a technical manual so i can use it?

This question is not directly related to "ProLiant Clusters", so it would be better to post it into one of the other ProLiant Server forums. However, I understand your dilemma as you don't know which one to post in. You may be able to look very closely at the system board for some type of identifier. A good thing to look for is an Assembly Number (sometimes referred to on the system board as "Assy") or you may see a statement saying "Replace with Compaq spare part number xxxxx". You could then do a search on the HP (Compaq) web site and see if those numbers show up. You can then get more detailed info on that server model at the following link:
