unknown "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE"
Hi all,
I have a problem related with my HP Proliant
Windows 2003 Server.
There seems to be an unknown "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE" (with a '?' at the DEVICE MANAGER Window) installed on this server which was uncovered when I formatted the server and reinstalled all the software and drivers back. This Unknown device does not fit to any type of driver originally shiped with the server package.
Any ideas are wellcomed...thanx

Re: unknown "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE"
Do you have Proliant support pack (PSP) installed?

Most likely "Base system device" is ILO.

Re: unknown "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE"
Hi,
Just to confirm. I suggest install
System magement driver first then check.
then install HP ProLiant iLO Advanced and Enhanced System Management Controller Driver.
then check is there any difference on box.
Pashant S.

Re: unknown "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE"
Yes, it's the ILO-Driver. But this driver is not signed by Micrsoft. Be sure that you allow silently install unsigned drivers in the Policy Settings.
