update ACU on proliant DL380 G2
Hello,
I have a Proliant DL380 G2 with Compaq Array Configuration Utility 2.90 A and i have to expand the array and the logical drive with 1 hdd but i can't with this version of ACU
Can i install the last version of ACU 7.40.8.0 ?
I have to ininstall the old ACU first or to install the new ACU over the old one?
Is it safe?
Is there any risk to lost the logical drives?
Thank you in advance
cristi

Re: update ACU on proliant DL380 G2
You can install ACU 7.40 without any risk. You can have both ACU 7.40 and old ACU 2.90 installed together (and you can use them both), however if you want you can uninstall old ACU before. New ACU use web interface. I suggest to install all Proliant support pack 7.40 - it will install new drivers, new system management homepage and other important things. Update server firmware before array expand will be good idea too:

And it is always good to have recent backup of the server !
