Re: update firmware
hi dtc,
you might be able to do it with the maintenance cd
download it from here
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/28059.html
you can burn this as a bootable cd or you can put the firmware files on a usb drive.
it depends if you have a server or what setup you are trying to do it with?

Re: update firmware
Thank you Andy.
I have downloaded the CD before. I am using a HP TC3100 server with a Compaq 73GB U320 SCSI drive (HPB4). The problem is SmartUpdate does not recognise the drive and it showed no update for the machine. I do not have Proliant Server. Is there any way I can update the firmware of my drive? Thanks.

Re: update firmware
hi,
If it doesnt see the drive its likely because its not on one of the supported scsi controllers?
unfortuantley I dont know of another way of updating it. If you had the disk in an MSA or something it might have stood more chance of finding the drives. someone else might know of another way.
good luck.
