upgrade DL320G4 RAID 1 SATA
HI all, i am plan on upgrading our existing drives configured in hardware RAID 1. The smartstart software was not used. I wanted to confirm, from what i've seen, that you can remove 1 drive, add the new drive and then rebuild array. After completion do the same with the 2nd new drive.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: upgrade DL320G4 RAID 1 SATA
hi,
yes you can do it.
However consider making a backup before starting the procedure
AND
that if you don't use smart array controller, after plugging the new HDD you have to go to ORCA (F8) and declare the new drive as a spare , so that the rebuild begins.
Automatic rebuild starts only with SA controllers.
