upgrading an old dl380

currently i have an old dl 380 server that is running dual PIII 860 slot 1 processors
i also have 4 matched PIII 1.0Ghz slot 1 processors.

from what i can see the only difference between the 1ghz and the 860 is that one of the 860's runs at 1.65v.

but even when using just a single 1.0ghz the machine will not start up. it acts like it then shuts down.. then starts back up.

i dont have a lot of expeience with dual processors nor with server computers in general so i am at a loss as to what i am missing.

any help would be appreaciated

Re: upgrading an old dl380

Ted,
It sounds like your firmware is not up to date enough to support the 1.0ghz processor.

go here and download the rompaq and flash the system.
