where exactly do I find MIB files for deciphering c7000 traps/alerts
Hi,
How exactly do I get the MIB files for a c7000? I seem to have trouble locating these. I have them for the c3000. Would they be the same?
The background is that we have both a c3000 and c7000, each with blades. For the c3000 and the c7000 I configure the OA to send traps to a.b.c.d. I do this by setting the SNMP Alert Destinations via Enclosure Information->Enclosure Settings->SNMP Settings on the OA. On the PC located at a.b.c.d I have wireshark running. Wireshark then shows the SNMP traps which appear on port 162. The PC successfully does this for the c3000 and the c7000.
On this PC at C:\Program Files\Wireshark\snmp\mibs I have various MIB files like cpqrack.mib, cpqstat.mib located. These are 110 of these .mib files. These files were 'gleaned' from a c3000 CD when the c3000 arrived. Should I have similar files dealing with the c7000. We never got such a c7000 CD. At any rate with these files I can decipher the traps. Generally I start a Cygwin bash shell and then 'grep 11003 *' where 11003 is the trap number (test alert/trap in this case)
I looked at the HP SmartStart 8.10 and had difficulty locating them there.
All help is appreciated in clarifying this issue (as maybe the c3000 and the c7000 traps are the same) or locating the mib files that would decipher the traps that come from the c7000. In my case the c7000 includes BL460s, Catalyst switches, OAs, power supplies, etc. If I understand it correctly I would be expecting to find a zipped file of 100/200 mib files.
Kind regards,
Michael
