where in the registry is the version.
we are deploying 7.00 agents in to our environment "approx. 700+ servers with 6.40 agents" and wanted to do a quick regread of the registry at the end to find out if we missed something. after testing one server, I found out that it still say 6.40... under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\compaq\CPQInstall\Compaq Foundation Agents" version.
I dont want to use CIM7 to gather this info because Software Version Status Polling task takes forever to run especially in our environment.
any one know where I can pull the version info. of the 7.00 agents currently installed in the registry?

locate the file survey.txt on server then search for following. "Compaq Foundation Agents" might help you.

Re: where in the registry is the version.
As you click on the last key, you can find the version Right hand side.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\compaq\CPQInstall\Compaq
Same process is for checking the support pack version also.
Moreover, you may visit this link :-

Re: where in the registry is the version.
Since you are not able to locate the survey.txt so my input is the PSP ( Proliant Support Pack) Deploymrnt is not working at you end. Bec when ever support is installed on any server. It will install survey.exe a monitoring tool that will generate the Surevey.txt the output file.
So, we missing something pal check again. It's no done yet. check same file existence on diff server. It is located by default under c:\compaq\survey\survey.txt
Cya you again

Re: where in the registry is the version.
We disabled this feature when installing CSP/PSP cant remember why but I know there was a good reason for it.
and since I re-ran the PSP from CD yesterday
it did install the survey utility and yes it does have the version info.
ahh I remember now it was making a few apps not work "peoplesoft" but that was along time ago.
oh well.. I guess will just abandon this.
We are almost half way and Im using version controll in CIM to check versions at the end and an hour later only a handfull of failed install sofar.
